Distinctions from LockOn 1.02

"Flaming Cliffs" contains the following improvements and changes when compared to Lock On v1.02:

1. The Su-25T has been included with advanced flight dynamics.

  • New operational with "Shkval" targeting system
  • New low light level "Mercury" pod has been introduced.
  • New targeting pod for anti-radiation missiles in now included
  • "Suhogruz" IR jammer has been introduced
  • "Vihr" targeting system
  • Pod-mounted external cannons

2. There has been a significant modernization of the Russian Su-27, Su-33, and MiG-29 avionics systems:

  • New weapon and sensor operational modes have been added. Among them is the tracking mode of up to 10 targets with sub-modes of target search in High PRF. Medium PRF, and automatic-lock mode in an Interleaved mode.
  • Dependence of the target mark on radar cross section was introduced.
  • Jamming gate strobe when detecting active jamming and Home on Jam mode.
  • Vertical scanning modes, Fi0, and navigation modes have been revised.
  • Weapon readiness panel has been redesigned.
  • Radar physics have been changed, inertial target tracking has been implemented and new range detection limitations based on flight altitude and angle of roll have all been introduced.

3. The angular dimensions of each aircraft are now faithful to the real ones. A list of snap-views, which can be adjusted by the player, has been enlarged due to introduction of mirror-views. In addition to the Lua configuration files for each aircraft, the player can not only set "quick" views but also set initial camera position and angle of view.

4. Parameters of various weapon types have been adjusted:

  • Shaped-charge warhead's damage effect is now calculated. In case of target miss, they barely damage the armor.
  • Cratering bomb effect is more accurately calculated.
  • Surface-to-Air Missile trajectories have been optimized.

5. New weapons and missiles models have been created: SPPU-22, KAB-500Kr, R-24R, R-24T, Kh-31A, Kh-31P, Kh-35, Vikhr, KMGU, external tank PTB-800, "Phantasmagoria" pod, SPS-141 pod, 5V55R SAM S-300 missile, 48N6E2 SAM "Fort" missile and others.

6. New bomb and missile launch devices have been included: AKU-58, APU-62, and APU-63.

7. Fortifications, checkpoints, blockhouses, command centers, weapon storage bunkers have been introduced. They can be placed in the game world via the Mission Editor.

8. Three new campaigns have been created, with a total of 76 missions. Campaigns are included for the Su-25T, SU-27 and MiG-29.

9. A new training course syllabus has been provided to instruct the player in the use of the Su-25T.

10. The manual has been significantly broadened in scope and adjusted. All area of aircraft operations are fully described along with detailed descriptions of weapons, sensors and other systems.
