Operation "Hot wind" (Su-27 campaign)
Under the aegis of a peace-keeper operation, NATO troops have been brought to Abkhazia. Following this, Georgia hurriedly performed a military operation with the aim to unite Abkhazia and Georgia. This action gave rise to conflicts with local opposition forces in Abkhazia and within Georgia. NATO bean military operations aimed to disarm opposition forces, but this led to moving the conflict to the -Russian Federation border region.
These actions in immediate vicinity of the Russian border become even worse due to a rapid increase of NATO troops in Abkhazia. NATO forces already quantitatively and qualitatively far exceed the forces needed to perform counter guerilla operation.
At present, the whole territory of Abkhazia, except for its northern part, is occupied by NATO coalition troops. The northern part, north of Gagry, is controlled by Russian peace-keeper forces. Different approaches and priorities of the parties has lead to sharp disagreements between the Russian Federation and the countries supporting the NATO "peace-keeping" policy in Abkhazia.
The foundation of NATO ground forces in the region is formed by American, Turkish and Georgian forces. Suhumi port is used as their naval base. A naval contingent of Turkish Naval Forces is deployed there. Suhumi and Gudaut air bases were handed over to the command of the second tactical aviation commander of Turkey and are now the main bases of NATO transport operations. Air defense forces are also under the Turkish commander and the air defense strategic center is located in Suhumi. The NATO fighter squadrons in the region are formed by Turkish fighters deployed at Suhumi and Gudaut air bases.
Due to instability in the region, Russia has made the decision to strengthen its forces near the border region. Air Force strength has also increased in order to implement the commander's order.
Political responsibility for the start of open military actions between the Russian Federation and NATO completely rests on the alliance commander. The conflict escalation began after the unauthorized penetration of NATO aircraft into the Russian Federation airspace and a brief battle with Russian air defense fighters.
The player participates in the conflict from the first day of the air war. Patrol flights and intercept flights targeted towards NATO flights that will likely precede a NATO advance from Abkhazia in the direction of Adler. At risk from a superior NATO force, our troops have retreated to new defense lines, and aviation units have moved to more remote bases. Not only must front-line units and facilities be protected from the enemy's blows, but cities in the rear such as Krasnodar and Novorossiisk must be protected as well.
The "Hot wind" operation is a crucial moment in the conflict that turned Russia's precarious position on the front into a successful advance of our troops. Large-scale military actions are performed with wide use of combat aviation - blows are inflicted on the enemy's facilities, naval forces, and air forces. "Hot wind's" operation goal is to liberate most of Abkhazia, including regions to the North and South of Suhumi. A US carrier group's appearance in the Black Sea hinders a successful operation.
Despite the difficulty of the situation caused by NATO forces in the region, our armed forces are determined to achieve their mission within only a few days.
